The National Organization for Yemeni Journalists (Sada) said Thursday that it had obtained information confirming the deterioration of the health condition of the abductee journalist, Abdul Khaliq Omran, who was sentenced to death, along with three other journalists.
In a statement, the organization held the Houthi group responsible for the life of the abductee journalist, Imran, and all the journalists kidnapped in its prisons.
The organization renewed its demand for the immediate and unconditional release of the abductee journalists and to stop all attacks and violations against journalists.
It also called on the media and organizations supporting freedom of the press and working in this field to play a greater role to protect Yemeni journalists, ensure their freedom and safety, and enable them to practice their profession.
On April 11 2020 the Al Houthi group issued a death sentence for the four journalists after a nearly five-year kidnapping.
It is noteworthy that Yemen is ranked 169 (out of 180 countries) on the table of the World Press Freedom Index, published by Reporters Without Borders earlier this year.
