Three children were killed, this morning, Saturday, and others were wounded in artillery shelling by the Houthi militia on the eastern neighborhood of the besieged city of Taiz
The state-run Yemeni news agency Saba, quoting local sources, said that the Iranian-backed Houthi militia targeted the al Kamp neighborhood with a Hauser shell, which led to the death of 3 children and the injury of 3 others, one of whom had his legs amputated, and all of them are in a critical condition.
A doctor at a hospital in Taiz confirmed to AFP that the three children were killed in the attack, noting that the death toll from the bombing in the neighborhood in the eastern city of Taiz may be greater.
Taiz, located in southwest Yemen, has been one of the cities most affected by the war since the conflict began in mid 2014.
And the spokesman for the United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF) James Alder said in Geneva earlier this month that ten thousand children have been killed or injured in Yemen since the conflict began, after returning from a mission in that country.
For more than six years, the country has been witnessing a violent war between government forces with the support of Saudi Arabia, which intervened in March 2015 under the pretext of restoring the legitimate government, and the Houthi militia, which turned against the government in September 2014.
This war has killed 233,000 people, and left the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, after 80 percent of the population is in dire need of aid, according to the United Nations.
